You are invited to join us for our talk series at our Sunday gathering...
The Book of Ruth
“The book challenges us on welcoming the stranger; on redrawing our stereotypes through encounter with those who are ‘other’; on finding gaps where compassion can thrive in the midst of technical debates about law and tradition; on carrying losses that cannot be grieved.”
This series recognises the book of Ruth as a story that offers us insight into many themes and challenges which are still live and current today: difference and division, stereotypes and stories, the way that our preconceptions and understandings about one another and even about God can bring limitation - or open up the possibility and promise of God’s grace and love.
Come along to our 9am or 11am Sunday services. With children's groups at the 11am.
Borders
What do you do when life - especially hardship or tough times - force you to cross borders, or mean you find yourself somewhere that feels foreign?

Belonging
Belonging is such a powerful human driver, influencing both other people’s perceptions of us but also our own concept of identity and who we are. This is evidenced through the question asked about Ruth “To whom does she belong?” What Ruth did took immense courage knowing as she would have done the risk of rejection, and the vulnerability of her position as a foreigner.

Becoming
The conclusion of Ruth’s story shows the impact of grace and kindness when it breaks down barriers and changes the way we think about ourselves and one another, realising how God sees us and reflecting divine love and generosity to one another.
